PLANNING AND ZONING

The Planning & Zoning Department is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Roscommon Township Zoning Ordinance and Land Use Plan.

Please Note: We are not currently accepting online payments at this time. Please continue to submit payment in-person or by mail.


You DO need to obtain a Land-Use Permit before placing any shed on your property.  Any shed greater than 200 sq/ft in size will also require a Building Permit.

Continuing as of June 4, 2024, Land-Use Permits are no longer issued same day. A turnaround of 5-7 business days can be expected so as to allow adequate review of applications and submitted documents. To minimize any delays in your submitted application, please ensure ALL required documentation is provided at the time of submission.


Apply for a Land-Use Permit

All applications must include a sketch that includes: lot dimensions, size and location of existing structures, dimensions, size and location on the lot of the proposed structure, setbacks from front, side, and rear property lines and estimated cost of the structure or project.

INTENT AND PURPOSE

To promote the public health, safety, comfort, convenience, and general welfare of the inhabitants of Roscommon Township by encouraging the use of lands and natural resources.
